Former President Donald Trump has been ordered to appear in federal court in Miami on Tuesday following an indictment by a federal grand jury. The trial, which will take place on May 20, 2024, just months before the presidential election, stems from Special Counsel Jack Smith's investigation into the 2020 election.
Trump is facing charges related to the handling of classified documents. Shortly after learning of the indictment, Trump met with the top leadership at Fox News in a private dinner, where they reportedly lobbied him.
In a subsequent interview with Fox News anchor Bret Baier, Trump denied allegations of mishandling classified materials and promoted false claims about the outcome of the 2020 election.
